All possible effort has been made to make this book comprehensive, packed with as many details as possible, elucidating in simple and plain language the engineering problems in sufficiently practicable and most easily applicable form. Numerous illustrative diagrams, worked out examples, tables, charts and graphs have been presented in this book to enable the readers to get inside the subject matter. But these examples do not necessarily guarantee the soundness of structures. The type plans, design papers illustrated in this volume should not be taken as working sheets at all but these are simply meant as anchor sheets or guidelines only.
